Many of these paintings are condensed in a room, which is my favorite place in the El Prado Museum, if not in Spain. These are highly charged images for they depict mythological and historical scenes in a gloomy golden light, surrounded by darkness, from which his characters basically insinuate themselves to a high level of grotesque abstraction. Thus, there is more than enough room for your own projections to take over the images. It was in this museum that I sat down and wrote a couple of pages of fiction on how the functional reasons why primitive art appeared in the civilization in which my screenplay is centered.
